Motorcycle Riders Club of America: Online Community

I would like to inform you that yesterday That my wife[Cherylyn] and I were in a motorcycle accident. I am banged up and bruised pretty good but Cherylyn wasn't so lucky. She is in the hospital with Multiple fractures to both legs. They operated this morning on her right ankle and the doctor said it came out very well. Both ankle bones that stick out the side of the ankle broke off and had to be screwed back in place. Her left kneecap broke across from side to side and the lower 3rd of it was pushed down into the upper part of her lower leg along with the smaller bone in the lower part of the leg being fractured as well. Surgery for her knee is scheduled for tomorrow some time. They expect her to come home maybe tuesday or wednesday. They say she will be in a wheel chair for about 6 months.
All prayers for a speedy recovery for her are welcome.
Thank You all.
Wizard

(UPDATE #1) Has now been 7 weeks since the accident and thanks to everyones prayers the wifes recovery has come along better than everyone expected. She is now up on one foot and with the help of a walker getting around really well. Hopefully she will be able to come home soon.
Thanks again from both of from the bottom of our hearts.

(UPDATE #2) Wife is now home on a permanent basis, She is now doing 95% of everything on her own. It is expected that when she visits the doctor next week he may allow her to start putting weight on the left knee, which will make life much easier for her. We couldn't have done it without the help of everyone here.
THANKS AGAIN!

(Final Update)Wife just had another doctors visit today and she is up out of the wheel chair and walking with a walker. The brace is permanently off the right ankle and the brace on the left leg only needs to be worn when walking. She is able to put full weight on both legs now. We are all amazed at her progress after only 2 months since the accident. I guess now I better start growing a pair of eyes in the back of my head in case she does decide to kick my ass. At least she can't run yet so I am still safe for awhile as long as I don't let my guard down too soon-LOL. She still has a long way to go before full recovery, but she is on the right track.

Thanks again to everyone for their prayers and concerns from both of us.
Harold & Cherylyn

May God be with you both and thank God you both survived and I will keep you in prayer and it works.
Wizard, sorry to hear about your accident, I will keep you and your wife in prayer, and may God bless and keep the two of you in His hands.
The power of positive thinking ! My brother-in-law fell from the roof of a garage he was erecting and broke his foot similar to her ankle and it was a matter of just a couple of months before he was pretty much back to normal. I am sure that if they believe the ankle came out great there shouldn't be any worries with the leg bones.

My wife and I wish you both speedy and trouble free recoveries!!
You both will be in our prayers for a speedy recovery.
