Has anyone figured a legal and humane way to keep dogs off your ankles?

I see that several have written loud pipes , well that does'nt work on all dogs . Neither does going faster . I had that problem once and I talked to the owner of the dogs , wasted my time . I ended up using a plastic baseball bat on the sucker . The dog I hit and his buddies that followed him never came out of their yard after me again , in fact he would run away when he heard me coming . I wished I could of used the bat on the owner of them dogs to teach him about being a responsible pet owner and keeping his dogs in his yard .

your right, its the owner and not the dog, the dog is just doing what comes natural to him. and you most likely saved the dogs life, good for you
