I nursed my kickstand switch along with WD 40, which would last for 2 weeks, then less, then not at all. Put me on the shoulder right in the middle of a construction zone the last time. Thank God it didn't shut down on me in the Eisenhower Tunnel.

Did you check the spark plugs? Maybe the fuel filter?
